The name of the organization shall be the Pere Marquette Chapter. NOTE: (Father Jacques Marquette S.J. sometimes known as Père Marquette or James Marquette (June 1, 1637 – May 18, 1675), was a French-American Jesuit missionary and explorer of the North American Midwest who founded Michigan's first European settlement, Sault Ste. Marie, and later founded St. Ignace, Michigan. In 1673 )
(Hereafter PMC) of the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship (hereafter FCF) operating accordance with the bylaws of the Michigan District Royal Rangers Ministry of the National Royal Rangers Ministry and National Frontiersman Camping Fellowship of the General Council of the Assemblies of God.
Article II – PURPOSE i
1. To mentor a group of boys and men who will strive to be the very best in Christian example and leadership.
2. To build a brotherhood of top-notch boys and men who will grow together becoming strong men of God.
3. To emphasize the importance of the Christian walk and help boys and men become real godly men.
4. To encourage the boys and men to put others above themselves and to let their leadership be by example.
5. To show a spirit of servant hood, willing to give of time and energy above and beyond what is expected in the Church and the World.
6. To give recognition to boys and men who are members or adherents in good standing with their church and have shown interest in camping and outdoor exploration.
7. To reenact the history of the North American Fur Trade Era, and to demonstrate, develop, teach and pass on this period’s historic skills, trades, and way of life.
8. Our five guiding trails.
a. Mentoring – Godly men mentoring boys and each other.
b. Godly Manhood – Encouraging/Teaching boys/men what it means to be a real godly man, to live like one, and not be afraid of embracing manhood.
c. Brotherhood – To treat each other like brothers in Jesus Christ.
d. Faith in Action – To achieve great things for the Kingdom of God.
e. Leadership – To be leaders in the church, our families, and in our communities.

Article III -- REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP
A. Those wishing membership:
1. Boys (ages 11-17) must complete the Frontiersman step of the “Trail of the Grizzly” for boys as defined in previous handbooks, or the most current requirements as indicated in the handbooks published by the National Royal Rangers Ministryor the National FCF Office, or as described in “PMC Official Policies and Procedures Manual.”
2. Men (age 18 and older) must complete the Frontiersman step of the “Trail of the Grizzly” for men/leaders as defined in previous handbooks, or the most current requirements as indicated in the handbooks as defined in the most current handbooks published by the National Royal Rangers Ministry or the National FCF Office, or as described in “PMC Official Policies and Procedures Manual.”
B. Basic Requirements for continued Membership
1. Dues:
a. Dues are due and payable at the Annual Business Meeting (ABM).
b. Dues are subject to change by the request of the Executive Board of Officers and a two-thirds vote of the membership at the ABM.
c. Active-duty military personnel and full-time college students or those with extenuating circumstances as determined by the Pere Marquette Executive Staff, are exempt from paying dues, or set at a different rate as determined by the Pere Marquette Executive Staff.
2. Dues in Arrears:
a. Current dues are a requirement for voting privileges.
b. Having dues more than two years in arrears will result in being placed on the inactive membership roll.
c. Re-instatement to active membership requires payment of the two years’ dues unless there are extenuating circumstances as determined by the PMC Executive Staff.
3. Transfers from other chapters:
a. Members in “good standing,” with another FCF chapter, evidenced by a letter from the chapter president or chairman may transfer to the PMC with all membership privileges.

Article IV -- HRS EXECUTIVE BOARD OFFICERS/
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
There will be an executive committee consisting of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, President, Vice-President, Past FCF or PMC President Emeritus and Vice Presidents Emeritus in good standing with the PMC, Scribe, Historian, Scout, Assistant-Scout, Buckskin Representative, and Wilderness Representative who will serve as PMC officers and make decisions, subject to membership ratification, between annual business meetings. All officers will wear appropriate insignia as stated in the National FCF Handbook for District Officers, or as the PMC Official Policies and Procedures Manual states. They will also perform the following duties:.
The general duties of the Executive Board are:
1. Develop, update and provide an PMC “Policies and Procedures Manual” I for each chapter officer,
2. Meet yearly to review and amend the PMC “Policies and Procedures Manual” as needed to meet current chapter needs.
3. Take directives under advisement from the PMC membership and Territorial Representative or National FCF President.
The specific duties of each officer are as follows:

A. Chairman: The chairman is the District Commander. He is the senior officer in the fellowship. He will chair all business meetings, elections, staff meeting, etc. He may delegate these responsibilities to the chapter president or vice-chairman (Deputy District Commander).
B. Vice-chairman: The vice-chairman will assist the president in his responsibilities. If the chairman is not present, the vice-chairman will assume the chairman’s duties
C. President: The president will be responsible for overseeing the overall PMC FCF ministry within the district in accordance with the PMC Policies and Procedures Manual duties and responsibilities
D. Vice-President: The vice-president will assist the president in his responsibilities. If the president is not present, the vice president will assume the president’s duties.
E. Scribe: The scribe will be responsible for all chapter correspondence, publications and promotions as directed by the president.
F. Company Clerk (Treasurer): Will be responsible for collection, distribution, and keeping financial records, at the direction of the PMC FCF President.
G. District Scout: the district scout is the Royal Ranger boys’ (Young Buck) representative to the PMC FCF Staff. He should endeavor to express the viewpoint

of the other boys in PMC FCF in regard to plans for events and activities. He also has the responsibility of cultivating friendship and understanding among all members by his personal example.
H. Any Emeritus position will serve on advisory council.
I. District Scout, Assistant: The assistant district scout is also a Young Buck representative to the District Staff. He is responsible for assisting the district scout in carrying out duties for PMC.
J. Historian: The chapter historian is responsible for compiling a historical log for his chapter. This log should contain photos and other information about the major PMC events and personalities in the PMC. He should also share photos and information with the National FCF Historian.
K. Wilderness Representative: The wilderness rep is responsible for encouraging the buckskin members to advance to the level of “wilderness”. He should endeavor at each event to teach skills or information that would be useful for a man of the wilderness.
L. Buckskin Representative: The Buckskin Representative is responsible for encouraging the frontiersman members to advance to the level of “Buckskin”. He should endeavor at each event to teach skills or information that would be useful for a man of the Buckskin level.
NOTE: Other staff positions will be discussed in “Pere Marquette Policies and Procedures Manuali.” They do not serve on the Executive Board.
Article V -- Election of EXECUTIVE OFFICERS
A. Chairman: By virtue of his office in Royal Rangers, the district commander is the chairman of the fellowship. He is not elected.
B. Vice-Chairman: By virtue of his office in Royal Rangers, the deputy district commander is the vice-chairman of the fellowship. He is not elected.
C. President and Vice-President: Candidates for president and vice-president are nominated and elected by the PMC membership, subject to District approval.
Qualified Candidates are:
1. Any “Old Timer” (at least 21 years old) member,
2. In good standing,
3. With at least a Buckskin rating and attaining Wilderness with in his first year.
4. He must have been a member of PMC for at least one year.
5. He must meet Michigan District qualifications.

6. Term of offices is two years. The term will begin after the election at the business meeting and go until the next election. He will be acting president until confirmation by the Michigan District Office of the Assemblies of God.
D. District Scout and Assistant District Scout are elected according to or the “Pere Marquette Policies and Procedures Manuali” and in even numbered years.
Qualified Candidates are:
1. Any “Young Buck” (not yet 18 years old) member.
2. In good standing,
3. Having been a member of Pere Marquette for at least one year.
4. Term of offices is TWO years.
E. Scribe, Historian, Buckskin Rep. and Wilderness Rep. and Company Clerk are appointed by the PMC FCF President subject to the approval of the Chairman/ Michigan District Office of the Assemblies of God.
Qualified Candidates are:
1. Members in good standing,
2. who have been a member of PMC for at least one year and,
3. Attends a local church,
4. Buckskin and Wilderness Reps must hold the appropriate rank.
Term of offices are concurrent with each presidential term. Officers will offer their resignations upon the election of a new president. The new president can accept or reject each resignation.
Article VI -- ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
A: The last Friday of January and the subsequent Saturday of each year or as designated by the Pere Marquette President will be the designated days of the Annual Business Meeting (ABM).
In the event of a conflict with the Michigan District calendar, the ABM will be held within 30 days of this date
B: A modern version of Robert’s Rules of Order such as Robert’s Rules of Order Modern Editionii will serve as the parliamentary authority at the ABM as well as at other meetings as necessary.
